Not everyone is privileged to learn an art form the traditional way ie; to learn from the guru (master) directly and receive knowledge consistently. Many diaspora dancers have been craving for such an opportunity where they could get the knowledge which was passed on from the gurus. Gurukul came into existence for this sheer reason- to pass on the traditional knowledge to students who can then elaborate and explore the art form.
Gurukul is a Dubai based organisation with branches in Sharjah,Switzerland & Bengaluru in India ,which works towards enhancing the practice, understanding and appreciation of Indian Art & Culture across the globe. Gurukul was built with an aim to promote contemporary art in a social and educational context. At Gurukul a systematic and structured form of training is being practiced, says Guru Pali Chandra.
